Description:

In this example, the pattern has been printed in blue underglaze on an indented stone china dinner plate.  The Chinese porcelain hand-painted plate on which the pattern was based is illustrated alongside a Spode plate with the Stone China mark as seen here in Robert Copeland, Spode's Willow Pattern and Other Designs After the Chinese, p. 143, Wellington House, London, 1999. The central pattern has a band of Catherine Wheel scrolls framing it.
