Description:

Exhibited here is an earthenware side plate in Spode's Daisy pattern.  It is printed in blue underglaze with a red painted edge.  Daisy is an example of a sheet pattern, the object of which was to avoid the necessity of a good fit for each shaped piece.  One copper plate could produce a transfer that, with the proper cutting, could be used for all shaped items.
