Description:

The pattern on this soup dish is another variation of the Trophies pattern and it is printed in blue with ochre color painted in underglaze. It is the only one of the four Spode Trophies patterns that has a gadrooned edge. The Four Treasures are represented by the symbols of the four fine arts: music, chess, calligraphy and painting. The central medallion represents The Hundred Antiques. The border pattern in Trophies Marble is taken from the Marble (Mosaic) or Cracked Ice and Prunus.
