Union Wreath Third

Pattern Category: Other Floral and Botanical Patterns

Object Type: Wares for Breakfast and Tea

  • Diameter: 6.1 inches

Spode's Union Wreath Third pattern is exhibited on a  New Indented tea plate in blue underglaze.  Although it is numbered third by Leonard Whiter, this was probably the first production of a Union Wreath pattern, circa 1822.  It is chiefly found on earthenware and, less frequently, on New Stone.  The border is shared with Girl at Well pattern (P701).
