Description:

This earthenware shell shape dessert dish is printed in a paler blue underglaze in the Castlepattern.  The pattern was inspired by an aquatint entitled The Gate of Sebastian at Capena found in Views of Rome and its Vicinity, published by J. Merigot, London, 1796-98.
