Description:

This pattern is printed in blue underglaze on an indented earthenware side plate.  In this scene, we see the winner of a horse race being presented with a victor's wreath. This pattern was also printed on a handled dessert dish with an ocre edge as shown below.  Click on the image to enlarge it.

This pattern was introduced in 1806.
